Born and raised in Utah, I have a PhD in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. My primary interest is in how memory of conflicts affects future conflict. My dissertation is on Generational Memory in Tipperary, Ireland.
I graduated from Weber State University with a BS in History focusing on 20th Century American History. My thesis was "Walt Disney's Defense of American Culture" and focused on his work during World War II and the Cold War.
In August of 2010 I graduated with a Master of Social Science from Syracuse University. My thesis was "Jane Addams use of Emotions in Social Change".
My current academic interests are the preservation of human rights, genocide prevention and civil society with specific focus on the Middle East and Africa. I currently teach as an adjunct professor at Weber State University in Women's and Gender Studies and am interested in Gender and Popular Culture, specifically related to Science Fiction, Fantasy, and "Geek" culture.
